I am inspired by looking closely at nature. My emphasis is on botanical forms. Surrounded by plants, flowers, and parts of trees I observe, draw, research, and document, in many sketches and drawings. The resulting work evolves into concepts which then become a larger series of paintings or drawings. I work to communicate how visually exciting nature is in different stages of life and decay and this becomes a meditation on life’s cyclical nature. It is my celebration of how interconnected all of life is.
